Winchester Main Street Farmer’s Market has seen local produce and other vendor items multiplying throughout the summer. Co-coordinator Shawnda Bond said the event was a SNAP-approved market with Indiana-grown products.
“Items are homemade and homegrown,” Bond said. “Produce has been rolling in and will continue to do so as more items become available.”
A wide assortment of vendors include frozen lamb products, goat’s milk soap and lotions, locally harvested honey, maple cookies, fresh-squeezed lemonade, baked goods, including popular breads and angel food cakes. In-season produce is a big draw for the patrons and a variety has been available.
“Many vendors will accept orders in advance and we’re always looking for more produce vendors and food trucks,” she said.
Bond has a booth filled with her knitted socks, mittens and headbands, which she creates on an antique circular sock knitting machine. Her station also displays jewelry made by her daughter, Brook.
Bond encouraged the public to follow the Market on the Winchester Main Street Facebook page for more information. The Market will continue through the end of September from 9 a.m.-noon on the west side of the Courthouse.
